Please note: If you are an Alberta Teacher's Association member you can determine which councils you have joined by going to the ATA website:

Parkland Institute Fall Conference

"Parkland will be hosting our 16th Annual Fall Conference from Nov. 23 - 25. The title is Petro, Power and Politics. This will be a place to discuss and workshop some of the above challenges that we, as citizen’s, are faced with."

From November 4 - 9^th, 2012, on Parliament Hill, get an insider’s view of Canada’s parliamentary system. Meet parliamentarians, and political, procedural and pedagogical experts. Explore key issues in parliamentary democracy. Develop and gather resources for teaching about parliament, governance, democracy and citizenship.

Alberta Heritage School Fairs - Parkland Mall, May 6 & 7, 2011

Heritage School Fair events actively involve students and community organizations, like museums, libraries and archives, with businesses in a celebration of Canadian History and traditions.

Using the medium of their choice, students in Grades 4 – 9 are encouraged to share their projects with the general public. It is this sharing that becomes the focal point for life-long learning.

Heritage Fairs were a national initiative of the Charles R Bronfman Foundation to create a better understandingof Canadian history. The first fair took place in 1993 in Winnipeg. Alberta joined in 1996. Since then, this project has grown. In 2009 over 220,000 students participated at over 350 sites in 13 provinces and territories.
