<p>Using the medium of their choice, students in Grades 4 &ndash; 9 are encouraged to share their projects with the general public. It is this sharing that becomes the focal point for life-long learning.</p>
<p>Heritage Fairs were a national initiative of the Charles R Bronfman Foundation to create a better understandingof Canadian history. The first fair took place in 1993 in Winnipeg. Alberta joined in 1996. Since then, this project has grown. In 2009 over 220,000 students participated at over 350 sites in 13 provinces and territories.﻿</p>
